How We Create

“I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills — to make artistic designs…” — Exodus 31:3–4

Every story in the Port Triune universe begins the same way: a person, a calling, and a blank page.

The narrative, theology, characters, and spiritual vision that drive these novels are entirely human-authored. Every plot decision, every doctrinal thread, every line of dialogue has been conceived, shaped, and refined by Daniel Johnstone — a writer who believes that stories about darkness and redemption carry real spiritual weight and must be handled with care and accountability before King Jesus.

We also live in a remarkable moment in history. New creative tools — artificial intelligence among them — now exist that allow independent authors and small teams to produce work at a quality previously available only to large studios. We use these tools. We use them deliberately, directing every output with clear creative intent, curating what serves the story and discarding what doesn’t.

AI has assisted in the production of:

  • Writing — AI tools have assisted in drafting, editing, and refining prose, always under the author’s direction and theological oversight
  • Music — Songs were written by the author and produced with AI-assisted audio tools
  • Voices — Character voice performances are AI-generated, directed to match each character’s identity
  • Images — Visual assets, including character portraits and promotional artwork, are AI-generated under the author’s creative direction
  • Video — Some video content uses AI-assisted production tools

What AI has not done — and cannot do — is determine what is true, what is redemptive, or what matters, given it has no soul or spirit. Those decisions belong to the author alone, and ultimately to King Jesus, in whose image all genuine creativity finds its source. Every word is written in dependence on the Holy Spirit, who precedes every tool and governs every decision.

We believe Bezalel’s story in Exodus 31 gives us a healthy framework: God fills His craftsmen with skill, understanding, and knowledge — and then they build. The Spirit precedes the tool. That is the order we seek to honour here.
